Mark . . though the syntax implies it was the guy speaking to shrink,
since it is
a joke, maybe the pelican was doing the talking.
Which, of course, recalls the wonderful and clever short poem by
Lanier Merrit, who wrote:
A wonderful bird is the pelican,
His bill will hold more than his belican.
He can take in his beak
Food enough for a week,
But I’m damned if I see how the helican.
