Hi All,
Recently someone reported very long exposure times for photoflood
bulbs compared to my times, even though he lives in the same climate
I live in (cool and wet). It came out in the discussion that he was
using blue photoflood bulbs (BCA). I said I didn't know how those
would compare to the ones I use and recommend. Then I remembered that
I have some blue bulbs in a drawer in the studio. I tried it this
morning and found that the blue bulb required 5X the exposure that a
particular test negative would normally require using my standard #2
bulb, EBV. So for anyone else who has been inspired from my website
to try a photoflood, be sure to get the EBV bulbs, not something
else, but also understand that my short times are probably related to
the high humidity where I live.
