While I accept that the safety issues attached to the preparation of
gold chloride is important, the purpose for the query was to ascertain
whether the cost of producing the chemical myself was significantly
cheaper than it purchasing ready-made. And indeed, it is aimed at
pursuing the chrsyotype rex process.

As I mentioned in another email, I have a chemist friend who would do
the actual preparation (he works in a government laboratory that
specialises in air safety investigation). He has also advised me of the
safety issues.
