Yes Scott, Kodalith can produce continuous tone negatives.

The main point is to use diluted Dektol instead of the regular lith
developer. I would try Dektol at 1:7 and process for 1.5 or 2 minutes.
You'll want to treat it like paper, making test strips, etc.

The most expensive Kodalith (Type 3?) or Polychrome PHT 4 will work fine
but is probably overkill. Cheap line films won't work at all--they
don't want to be continuous tone. I'd get a mid-grade all-purpose line/
halftone film. In fact, I'd get the Freestyle catalog and order their
Premium Halftone Supreme (100 sheets of 8X10 for $43).

I haven't fooled with this stuff for a couple of years. I'm certain
that many folks out there can give you more thorough instructions and
suggestions for films. (Which I'd like to read as well.)

Anyway, Freestyle's address is:
5124 Sunset Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90027
