My wet-plate advice is to start small! Flowing collodion smoothly on a
plate is quite an art - better to play with 4x5 before wrestling with a bigger
format. Once you've tried it, you'll have a new appreciation for William Henry
Jackson, Watkins, Muybridge, etc. etc.
