Hello from t'other side of the Mall, John. Have you tried gum arabic solution?
You can get little bottles at art supply stores, or big cheap jugs at litho
supply stores. If you can find gum powder (it used to be available through
Fisher Scientific) you can mix it to your desired thickness.
