Greetings all,

I am interested in any info you might have about testing paper pH. I
believe this is a topic of some relevance to this group for obvious
reasons. Pointers, bibliographies and personal methods would all be
appreciated and welcome.

I have just begun to investigate this topic and will consolidate and
repost any information furnished. I suspect paper testing might be
something worth including in the FAQ which I understand is now under
construction. To date I am aware of several methods, aside from "pH pens"
(which only provide a gross indication of the paper's pH): cold
extraction, hot extraction, flathead electrode and color indicator. I
found reference to these methods via the WAIS COOL database maintained by
Walter Henry at Stanford (CA - USA), but could not find descriptions of
the techniques.

P.S. Unless you explicitly tell me that you do not want the material you
send me reposted, or your name associated with it, I will assume that you
have no objections to including it in any subsequent reposts.
