EPA and chemicals for Pt/Pd printing

I heard an uncorroborated rumor that there is some move on for the EPA
to reduce the availability of some of the chemicals used in printing
Pt/Pd and cyanotype (the oxalates?) because of their toxicity.

I'd like not to believe this, but the original source is normally
pretty reliable (and I won't let his name out).

Does anybody have any REAL facts on this? I'm not doing Pt/Pd now, but
that's where I'm probably headed in the next couple of years.
