-> One possible source for premanufactured pinholes would be condenser
-> apertures used in electron microscopes. As they are part of a high
-> resolution imaging system they are *very* accurate. Hole sizes available
-> range from 1mm (0.039 in.) down to 0.010mm (0.00039 in.). The holes are
-> either made in metal strips or in metal discs which range in outside
-> diameter from 2mm to 6mm. The metals that they are made in are usually
-> gold, platinum, or molybdenum. They are not cheap and prices vary according
-> to the size and material but they average around $40 to $60 (Canadian).
-> They are available from a number of electron microscopy supply companies.
Also the pinholes used in spatial filters for Holography could be used.
They are not cheap either, I think Edmund Scientific sells them for $30
to $40 Cdn. Somebody else mentioned that drilled holes are in
fact "tunnels" across the thickness of the foil in which they were
made. Pre-manufactured for other than "pinhole photography" pinholes
are most likely drilled holes, I think.
Has anybody here used pre-manufactured pinholes?
