I was waiting for the follow up!!! And it really comes
down to " Don't ever mess with the base support" . If the base support is
of proper manufactor, there should be no reason ever to mess with it. If
made of 100 % cotton and no additives of an acidic nature are added (A true
archival paper) there is no need to use additives. The longevity of the
final print should be the ultimate concern. I have always wondered and am
still puzzled by the photo industry in there use of would pulp paper which
they coat with a baryta coating to protect the silver gelatin from the
paper????? What good is the silver gelatin without the paper?? Well, I
guess enough said on this one! And one last call for anyone with any
information on "The Archival Paper Ordinance of 1907" , would appreciate
any references to the Ordinance.
Thanks for a great list all,
Kurt
