Pan Masking Film

I assume the need for masking was for B & W, and there is no need for the
panchro response. I have used the material for masking high contrast color
slides for R type printing, but found that Kodak fine grain release positive
film works really well for B & W masking. I think it is an emulsion like the
old non-developer incorporated Kodabromide, and has a clear undyed base. Of
course, only a yellow safelight is necessary and that makes processing by
inspection easy. Adjusting exposure and contrast is easy by inspection. I know
it is available in 35mm in 100 foot rolls either perf or non-perf, and I have
seen it in the past in 4 by 5. I recently used it to mask some 2415 solar astro
35 mm negs to make positive transparencies.
