I'm about 90% sure that acetate will melt to the heating rollers in copy
machines and then transfer to all of the following parts. I think that the
plastic used for transparent copies is polyester otherwise known as mylar and
not acetate. Thin transparent sheets are often called acetate as a kind of
generic coverall name like Xerox for all copy machines regardless of
manufacturer.

Your local blueprint supply store, if you have one, will likely stock
transparent sheets in large sizes specifically for machine copying. They will
also stock acetate sheets used for hand work and cold copy processes. Get the
right stuff.

Please check before using actual acetate. A mistake here could generate a
very expensive repair bill.
