after talking to the distributor of oriental, they have informed me
that oriental has indeed gone bankrupt. they do not know at this point
what is going to happen. they are expecting an announcement august
15th from Japan. the factory there is supposedly open and coating,
under reoranization, but the american distributor is presently not
expecting any more shipments. thanks, steve

you've said above:

well-wishers, and some other forum messages, that Oriental Photo Dist.
Co. is out of business. Well, I'm here to tell everyone that we're
not, and to assure our regular customers that we will continue to
service them as we have since 1979.
We are experiencing some shortages of paper because the factory in
Japan is in reorganization, however, we continue to receive and ship
paper. We have informed our sales force of the impending shortages and
to expect some delays in shipments-this sparked a little run on our
inventory which caused some back orders. We hope to resolve these
shortages as soon as possible.
As far as Oriental Photo Distributing Co. is concerned, we are
independent of Tokyo. Our VC CLS, EcoWash Printwashers, Archival
Boxes, and all other accessory items are manufactured in the U.S. and
are readily available.
If you are interested in purchasing any of the Oriental New Seagull
Products and are having difficulty in locating goods, please call our

assist you in your search for goods.
