I agree with Peter Marshall.
I should add that sodium metabisulphite is being used by photographers
all around the world to clean those brown spots due to developers.
First you must make two solutions:
A) 20 % of Metabisulphite in water.
B) 20 % os Potassium Permanganate in water.

Soak your hands (or clear clothes) in sol (A).
Then a brief wash with plain water and apply the sol (B) to the ex-brown
spots (after the metabisulphite bath they should look yellow).
This treatment works very well not only for your hands but for darkroom
and labware.
