My sense of the problem is that "fidelity of transfer" doesn't exist per se
unless you're planning to print on standard silver materials. For
"alternative " photo processes, large neg needs to be matched to
emulsion into which it is to be translated...shrt scale like gum, or
looooong scale like VDB, for instance. Best to print a 21-step in
the paper/process planned, count the steps & fidelity that.

Speaking of film, however, no one has mentioned Kodak Professional Copy
Film, which last I heard comes only to 8x10. It does however respond very
well to control by both exposure & development.
