I once made a very handy pinhole camera out of an old Speed Graphic
4 x 5 with a missing lens and lens board. It might have been a Crown
Graphic. Anyway, all I had to do was make a new lens board, spray
paint it black matt and drill a hole in the center to accomidate a
precision pinhole I bought from Edmund Scientific Co. No shutter is needed
,of course, because of the long exposure times. I just held a piece of
black matt board in front of the camera, removed the dark slide and took the
matt board away. You can usually find an old 4 x 5 Graphic sans lens and
shutter at a fairly low price. I also recall using single-weight 4x5
Velox paper to make paper negs.
