The reccomended developers are the usual suspects: Potassium Oxalate,
Ammonium Citrate, Sodium Citrate, and the B&S Cold Bath Developer.
I prefer to use Potassium Oxalate.
The standard procedure that I have used with other papers such as
Crane's Platinotype and Parchmont is as follows:
1. Develop - 2 minutes - Potassium Oxalate
2. Clear - 5 minutes - 4% Phosphoric Acid
3. Clear - 5 minutes - 4% Phosphoric Acid
4. Clear - 5 minutes - 4% Phosphoric Acid
5. Wash - at least 30 minutes - running water
6. Dry - air dry on screens
I had never used a water rinse between the developer and clearing
baths prior to trying the Arches Platine. When I used this procedure
with Platine, however, it left a residual yellow. Martin's procedure
was better but still did not clear completely. I don't have any more
of this paper at the moment so I can't test David Fokos' suggestion
of using Kodak HCA yet, but will report back when I have tried it.
Thanks for the address for Purcell. I'll contact them directly.
