Many modern arc lamps are extremely rich in UV Light. I suggest
that you investigate Zirconium arc lamps. They run an enclosed
arc in a quartz tube. The running voltage is low and the efficiency
very high. The actual light source is a brilliantly radiating
"lake" of liquid Zirconium on the surface of the Anode.

These are not only good UV sources and good point sources, but much
of their energy is in a really pure white light that seems ideally
suited to photographic illumination (3400K), as the output does
not have the spectral "spikes" of gas discharge tubes.

To find out more, I'd contact a scientific supply like Melles Griot,
or perhaps Edmund Scientific might be better.

Hope this helps,

Ed Lukacs
