Many thanks to all who took the time and trouble to respond--some at
considerable length--to my query about the cliche verre process. I'm really
looking forward to following up on the various leads you provided me with,
and to experimenting with some of the techniques you outlined. (Don't have
any karo syrup in the house at the moment, but I can already report that
retouching dyes in honey make some very interesting root-like patterns!
