ACK is the airport code for Nantucket, MA, however in this context it
means Acknowledge which is a networking term held over from the days of
Radio, telegraphy, etc.
RTFM - is a snide tech support slang term for Read The F**king Manual.
Which is related to SNAFU - Situation Normal All F**ked Up whose
distant cousin is
WTF - What The F**K?
The last two acronyms are still in active use in Navy and I presume in
other branches of the Military.
Back to my real alt process cave, where I lurk in peace absorbing
knowledge from so many, including ongoing lessons in etiquette ,
civility and taking the high road in my written communications. Ciao,

Hi Camden,
... My years in computer tech support have actually taught me ... <
MeToo, ACK and all that. I was exicited having more than 600
mails overnight (more when I killed them in a snap). But at least
the rule is: "RTFM". Then it´s not necessary that 1000s of people
have to act, and some of them are really embarassed or have
problems. "Shit happens", and this list is an example for Netiquette.
Cheers
