Re: Eastman House gum prints

Hi Christina,

I was just asking about the Johnson's out of curiosity and because I am vicariously "visiting" the Eastman house through you.. The Johnson's have a museum in Kansas, of which I am a member, and I have books by them, DVD's of their movies, etc. I've written a few small articles about them.

They are known for their ground breaking photography of tribes and wild animals in the south Pacific and Solomon Islands in the 1920s and 30s. They were the first to photograph African areas from airplanes Osa and Martin flew themselves. They - especially Osa - just captured my imagination and I've been trying to learn as much about their experiences as I can.

Please don't go to any trouble trying to see material concerning them. I just assume everyone would be as fascinated with them as I am, even though I realize that isn't true.

Keep sending us reports about what you are seeing.
