Re: OT: Dan and Jill's Moving Sale on Inkjet Paper
Hey Mark, Thanks for the good wishes. Our new home is in Palenville, NY. I've proudly told just about everyone the following fact but in case I missed you, Palenville is the mythical home of Rip Van Winkle. Jill says our workshops up there will be known for their afternoon naps. ;^) Lots of modifications have to take place. A 1,700 sq. ft. basement (they don't have such things in Texas) will be converted to studio and darkroom. I'm really looking forward to the four seasons, green mountains (we're actually in the Catskills Park) and fresh air. Oh, and the roads are so beautifully 3-dimensional that motorcycling is not exactly the last thing on the "can't wait for spring" list. I've posted a shot from my first post-surgery motorcycle ride on New Year's Eve on our server. It was only a rotator cuff repair (and NOT riding related) but for those who haven't had the pleasure, the recovery is painful and limiting. The (faster and sexier) bike on the left is mine (yeeha!), and notice the "buck authority" parking job: http://www.danburkholder.com/motorcycle/MTS-and-GS1150.jpg In fact, my one splurge on the house deal is having a 4' wide overhead door on the side of the garage so I can leave and enter on a bike without moving any cars. We've never even experienced a garage door opener before so this is a double treat. I keep telling Jill that motorcycling is part of my mid-life crisis but she says with 40 years of riding behind me I'd better come up with something new...that doesn't walk on two legs. Oh well.... Once we get settled, you and all friendly photo folks are invited to visit. Photo opportunities are abundant: waterfalls (taller than Niagara), forests and meadows all within 10 minutes. I'm anxious to get to work on a New York portfolio!
