Re: Cyanotype paper
Just spoke with John Zokowski with Butler Dearborn and bought the
Weston paper. Great price and the paper sounds so good. I might end
up using that instead of my own, at least at times.
The input here really is helpful.
thanks again, Anne

Hi Anne,
One of the best papers for cyanotype is the the same one a number
of us have found to work well with pt/pd. Inexpensive also:

Otherwise you can find resume or parchment deed papers at office
suppliers in letters size that work well also. Some may have
watermarks though, if that matters.
Alt photo is not new in Nashville. Teresa VanHatten Granath at
Belmont has been making beautiful tricolor gum/cyanotype since she
got there, 7 years ago. I had a show of my alt prints there in '99,
during the regional SPE conference. A number of us gather there
almost every year to share work and do field trips together. (None
of us goes there for Opry, believe it or not.)

I'll be teaching a cyanotype workshop this summer in Michigan. In
the past I've supplied paper that I've made but that's a lot of
work! So, does anyone have suggestions of a good paper for a
class that would hold up to washing, nto much sizing, if any? A
good study versatile, not expensive paper. Perhaps a paper on a
roll.
BTW, I moved to this area from the Nashville area this past April.
Sorry I'll miss Sam Wang's show at Belmont. But it's good to see
that area become more aware of alt photo. I used to take my work
to Chromatics for slides and the help there would be excited by
the process. It's new to most folks there. I'm sure that will be
a very good show. That's become a great area.
Thanks for the help with paper sources! Anne van Leeuwen
