This website maybe of interest to anyone interested in buying an aquatint screen. http://www.elizabethdove.com/screens/index.htm

Elizabeth Dove has written a chapter on how these screens are made in Keith Howard's book, Non-Toxic Intaglio Printmaking. The "stochaistic"pattern is originally created from a piece of Japanese anti-glare glass but the screens are output to film by imagesetter. I haven't used these screens, but the process sounds interesting.

I bought mine from Dan Welden and it's held up well over the years, although it wasn't cheap. I maybe wrong, but I always thought it was output by Duane at Copygraphics.

Keith.
