mixed results......

Did a test today... two step wedges side by side, one with baby powder
only, and one with half of it sprayed with Grumbacher Matte workable
fixative, and the other half with Weber Blue Label fixative.  The
Weber clouded over as soon as it hit the film, but the Grumbacher laid
down a nice smooth tone of droplets that dried quickly but a little
cloudy.  Just a little.

The rotten thing though, is that I exposed them on a 'scrap" of 3 x 8"
km73, and the piece was small enough I guess, that it didn't measle-up
under vacuum.  :o/  it was smooth as can be all over.

One thing was noticable after development tho... the tones of the
scale with the 2 sprays on them didn't look as smooth as the
baby-powder one.  Even the grumbacher area had a little blotchy look
to it ( and I 'm talking about looking at the developed PLATE, not a
print.  I had to go out this afternoon/evening for a while, but I'm
going back down tonight and take another look, and make a plan...
