Heat darkens the iron/silver processes whether you want it to or not. Which is why, if you're going to drymount Vandyke Brown, etc., it's a good idea to check in advance by putting the print through the drymount press -- even if it's printed to allow for full dry down.... (Some years ago I tried effect of heat on processes I was doing at the time, including cyanotype, but don't remember if cyano also darkened with heat.)
