Also FWIW, I have no problem at all with 350MB TIFF, 48 bit
color. I also have tons of 200MB TIFF in 16 bit grayscale,
again, no problem. My experience is with the product version
of Lightroom. I use dual G5 2GHz with 2.5GB RAM, MacOS 10.4.9.
