Re: minneapolis bridge collapse--Keith Taylor and others OK??

Chris,

Thanks for your concern. To be honest, it's still a bit surreal. I travel the bridge twice a day, to and from the studio and although it's not as wide as Sandy knows it, they estimate around 50 cars were on it at the time. I left to go home an hour early as I wasn't feeling too well, otherwise I would have certainly been in that area around then. Probably hundreds of other people with similar stories... We're still waiting for news on a friend who we haven't been able to reach. So sad.

Keith.

Really horrifying. The event touched home with me because I grew up near the Mississippi river and have crossed over it on bridges literally thousands of time. In fact, I spent the past week near Natchez, Mississippi and in Memphis and crossed over the river in those two places 25 times or more. Not sure how wide the river is in Minneapolis, but down south it gets up to a mile or so wide so you are on the bridge a long time when you cross. I always am a bit fearful of earthquakes or a crazy barge bringing the river down, but never of structural defects. I don't want to get into a blame game, but this just seems criminal to me.

Keith, Barry, and all other Mpls residents on this list,
Hope you are all OK in this horrific tragedy. I can imagine how at the very least the traffic disruption will be phenomenal. I know when I lived there I used that bridge twice a day going to the U of Minn.

I have been glued to the TV since last night watching this.
Chris
