Hellena, I agree with your assessment about techniques-- "if it
works, it works."
I always wonder if shows like this shouldn't simply be called a
photography exhibit, and skip the name "alternative" altogether.
Though I have to admit, in most "alternative process" exhibits I've
visited, I find the work far more appealing and intriguing than most
photography shows I see. So, if nothing else, the "alternative"
label tends to pull in much more interesting, often compelling,
work-- from what I've seen, anyway. Of course, I might not be
visiting the right places . . .
