The lovely thing about monopolies is that they usually end up chopping their own heads off. If anything, this opens a window of opportunity for other companies to create similar technology and level the playing field. Here, in the Berkeley CA area, one company is doing a fine job of recycling large Epson printer cartridges in the 11l and 220 ml sizes. They'll also take back your maintenance tank as well. Credit is given which can be applied to purchases is you become a customer. All the info is on their web site.
