As a sidelight, I was looking through some papers on steganography in images recently, and found one by Hany Farid from Dartmouth which illustrated the iconic (but composite) image of Abraham Lincoln and John Calhoun. As the author noted, it was somewhat ironic, given that Calhoun had been a strong supporter of slavery early in his career. A fascinating paper. I haven't seen the Brugioni text that Judy mentions, but I suspect it would probably be in that. Cheers, Peter.
