Nice to see you back! I really missed you on the list these months.

No, I did not use the agar-agar method. I'm stil doing carbon the 'old way' with dichromate.

But the 'gumstyle' directcarbon method Halvor describes I did test aiming at doing tri-color with it.
I recently bought a full set of coating rods and tried them out a bit with gelatin sizing paper for carbon. Not at all evident how to coat evenly with these rods! I have the impression that finding the right feel and doing it very quickly in one pass with exactly the right amount of gelating is the way to go. Otherwise maybe adding (more) alcohol or tween might helps. Or a floating method like albumen (messy I think).

BTW, wire coated rods gave me horrible streaks with pigmented gelatin. I
hope this proves false for you.
