7800 printer problem
mark, i am trying to print some negs on my 7800 printer using tiger software and cs3. when you worked with me i was using cs2 and the os system before the tiger. when i pull up the print dialogue box, everything from print setting down has a line thru it and a note says 'the bundle 'colormanagement' could not be loaded because it does not contain a version for the current architecture. it says that for everything. i tried to download a new driver from epson but that doesnt seem to work either. it says its installed but i cant get to anything. do you have any idea whats going on with this??

Yves,
Not unusual to get uneven tone when making short exposures with some materials. It may be the light showing uneven coverage, but more likely variance of speed of the emulsion itself. For example, with PT/PD, it could easily be variances in moisture in the emulsion. For carbon—perhaps moisture, perhaps uneven sensitization.
Best Wishes,

this may interest some of you.
While testing for exposure time with a friend, we realise that something was let say bizarre and we decided to test our light source. We exposed for 1/10 our standard exposure time to obtain a mid to light gray. We made the test print the same size as our usual prints using no transparent materal.
As soon as we could see the result, (carbon print) we where stunned, there where major differences in tone all over the print and all sort of undesirable artefacts.
We where using a point source and decided to try an UV tube bed instead and of course we will make another test just in case.
The lesson learn from our experience may be useful to others and I thought we should share it with you.
