Hmmm, but moth balls are toxic. That's why I don't use them
in my home.
Are there any silverfish alternatives that are non-toxic?

Thanks. I have already dealt with the silverfish problem by using moth
balls in all my storage areas. Doug Ishimura (sp?) from the RIT Image
Permanence Institute told me that moth balls would not adversely affect silver
or pt/pd prints.

Make sure that you are in fact dealing with
termites...silverfish love to feed on paper and starch-based products and are
very common in many households.

Heat will also kill any pests, but
I am not sure what temperature is needed and heat might be more detrimental to
old paper.
