Thanks everyone! 
Lots of great information.  It seems the hardest thing to do with toning is to get delicate tones. 
My husband John is trying to get something other than the "fake antique foto" sepia look ;o))
We have the Tim Rudman book, which is excellent.  We're just starting to experiment, and I
knew I could get some good ideas here to save us a few (hundred?) test strips!
