Re: I should have bought an Epsom but...

Thank you for the information. My printer uses 3 types of ink sets. The first combination is Tricolor + Black, second is  Tricolor + Photo Grey and the third is  Tricolor + Photo. Which ones are you using? Hellena

Hi Hellena
I've looked around about the HP Pro B8350 and I've read that you have choice of different HP inks. It seems that your printer can use the VIVERA HP inkset.
I can tell you that these inks are absolutely excellent : I use them for all my work (colour printing, B&W printing, digi negs) with my HP Pro B9180 and I obtain good results; last week-end, I led a "making Digitral Negatives" workshop and all participants got excellent results using the printer + Vivera inks.  And i'm sure that you may also change the  printer settings (somewhere in advanced options) to increase the level of inking if you really neeed it.
Bon courage
and
Cheers from france

I didn't-  but the decision I made has been a false economy. I bought an HP Photosmart Pro B8350 and the problem is that I cannot get a decent black on transparencies. I do not even get a decent black when inverting canvas size. Does anyone have any suggestions as how to solve this problem or shall I just bite the bullet and get an Epsom? Oh for the return of the 1290. Any suggestions as to which printer bearing in mind cost considerations and the fact that I don't work larger than A3 plus. All help will be greatly  appreciated.
