Re: Miracle size for gum (CAPAROL binder)

hey loris,
i just got an answer from kremer pigmente, they don't normally carry the gamblin pva size, but they can spezial order it.
they have it in 224ml and 946ml sizes. it takes about three weeks to arrive.
i will order some caparol todayand try that first.

regards
phritz

Thanks Phritz, could work indeed. On the other hand the statement
"permament paint film" makes me think it's something different than
what Gambling uses in their PVA-sizing, since people have noted that
you loose some of the size in water development IIRC / didn't
misunderstood...

Loris.

loris,
i think i finally found something. the stuff is called "caparol binder"
from the sennelier catalog:
"caparol vinyl binding medium, which contains a high concentration of
water-soluble polyvinyl-acetate was developed specifically for use with dry
pigments. this easy to use medium provides a completely permanent paint
film..."
