RE: Daguerreotype Gallery
Hi Judy, A 404 status code means the site, (as you've found out), is Not Found. That doesn't mean that it has disappeared forever, it could mean the webmaster was doing some maintenance, for example. I see the site you were trying to view is back up now, but should it disappear again and you are at a loss for something to do you could go here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_HTTP_status_codes and look at the other couple of dozen plus status codes, 418 being my favourite proving geeks actually have a sense of humour :) John. -----Original Message----- From: Judy Seigel [mailto:jseigel@panix.com] Sent: 28 October 2009 02:12 To: alt-photo-process-l@usask.ca Subject: Re: Daguerreotype Gallery > On 24-Oct-09, at 5:05 PM, Gregory Popovitch wrote: > >> Hi all, >> >> Please come visit my new gallery of modern daguerreotypes at >> http://www.dagartist.com. Why is it that, tho I've tried that address several times, each time I get the message -- a number something like 404, claiming there's no such person, address or phone in the entire universe so forgeddaboudit... I've copied it directly onto the clipboard, checked carefylly and rechecked, but the gremlin connected to my server isn't having any... ??????????????????? sigh, Judy >> >> Thanks, >> >> Gregory Popovitch >> >> > > david drake photography > www.daviddrakephotography.com > > > > No virus found in this incoming message.
