Paul, if we mean to *care* about where we live, a TON of dichromate isn't 
even in the running.  If you check the statistics on world population 
growth and remaining hectares of arable land -- that is, land to grow food 
is NOT growing and the population most definitely is, and we're slated to 
reach maximum in less than 30 years. After that (in the lifetime of many 
on this list) odds are good for mass, um, let's call it "chaos."  If the 
culture has any sense, they'll put the "right to life" folks in the loony 
bin, if they haven't gotten there already, and issue a one family/one 
child rule.... Tho Americans are optimists who figure we'll invent a 
solution: start a colony on Mars, or make synthetic food out of old TV 
sets....

Whatever, IMO, caring about where we live, which is planet 
Earth, is very important, a matter obviously of life and death, but the 
way we're heading, I think dichromate in the water could be relatively 
benign, given our current trajectory.

But of course, in any event, you're still on the side of the angels,
