Chris,
You can look for "gumotisk", which is Czech for "gumprint". However a
caveat: the word is also used in other contexts related to modern printing.
As in Spanish, "rubber" and "gum" is the same word in Czech.
A place to ask would be the National Technical Museum in Prague (
http://www.ntm.cz/en) The curator of historic photo processes is Dr. Tomas
Stanzel, I don't know him but I could try to get in contact with him (as you
will probably remember I live in Spain, not in the old country).
Also, the Moravian Gallery in Brno (http://ces.mkcr.cz/cz/psb.php?idpsb=539)
is worth an investigation.
There must be books printed in the period when gum was popular, but keep in
mind that in those times the Czech Republic didn't exist as such, but it was
part of the Austro-Hungarian empire. So, many Czechs (and Slovaks, Petzval
comes to mind) spoke and wrote in German.
This said, I have a scan of a book by V.J. Bufka, who was active around
1908. The book has several pages on gum, but it is written in Czech.
