Chris,
Just borrow a PC , download the program (see websites), and the
resetting is a 'ten seconds job' .

After resetting to be on the safe site, just put something under the
printer in case there is a real overflow of waste ink. It never
happens on my Epsons , and i did reset it different times.
The trick for the 3800 is even more simple: just a piece of tape over
a small part of the chip on the 'waste cartridge'.
