[alt-photo] Re: 3800 maintenance tank ( Re: printer woes)

Is there a safe alternative to buying a new maintenance tank for the 3800?

Can the tank be cleaned manually and the "diaper" replaced with something 
else or will the chip prevent it? I saw the tip on putting tape over the 
chip and started to wonder...
