Don
Thanks for the more precise comments on QTR and PDN.

Paul,

PDN is inkjet only, because it involves using ink color to block light (UV
density).

Precision Digital Negatives will work with image setter negatives, though
I'm not sure about the laser printer negatives, so it's not inkjet only and
it isn't tied to one brand of printer like QTR.

QTR is a single channel raster image processor that is capable of
linearizing a digital step tablet. And will accept a PS ACV curve for
correcting or linearizing the tones for specific processes. It's a great
product too. Version 2 of PDN is an extremely powerful product and I'm not
sure people realize it's capabilities though at times it can pissy to use
like QTR.

Both PDN and QTR have their learning curves but IMO QTR is better used on a
PC. There doesn't seem to be much advantage to using PDN on a Mac or PC,
unless you object to wearing a brown business suit. Anyone ever notice how
you never see Robert Gibbs and PC Guy in the same room?

Ciao,

Don Bryant
