Hello everyone,

I actually made those videos for a bunch of students printing 4-color gum... just wanted to show them the whole process before they start, that's all. I had a tiny pocket videocam at hand all the time while working, and set it up on a tripod any time I wanted to record. I am glad if some of you find the videos interesting.

Someone refered to Lukas Werth's method of fastening the paper to glass (PF #6 p. 17), but this is a different method; his glue is the carpenter's bone glue - the traditional stuff that can be dissolved with hot water. That does not work with PVAc glue and aluminum... we did not have any luck with trying to remove the prints from the aluminum.

So, why remove them then... I just leave the print on the aluminum, which gives a firm and lightweight support to it. As to the longevity, I don't see any more problems than what sizing the paper with PVAc sizing agents (like Gamblin or Caparol) does.

If you soak for a longer time in warm water, it'll pop off...once again,
Lukas Werth explains this in PF #6.
