Could be the super saturated silver nitrate in solution which I see as I
mix in the last of the silver nitrate at a less than leisurely rate. If it
is, it will go back into solution after 48 hours or there abouts.  I always
draw from the clear green liquid above any sediment after letting it sit
for a couple of days to ripen.

Did your source for distilled water change this time around?
