I Haven't tried EDTA but use citric acid. The 
great thing about it is there are no acidic fumes 
which you do get from HCl and even acetic acid. 
Oxalic acid will leave calcium oxalate residue as 
was mentioned earlier although this may not be 
detrimental to the chemistry of cyanotype.

I once placed some calcium carbonate into a 
container and added dilute (about 4%) citric acid 
and it quite readily dissolved the calcium 
carbonate to make a clear solution, this is why my vote is for citric acid.
