Hello Dave,
I know of two great gravurists in the US, but they live somewhat
near Canada. In 1990 & 1991, a man by the name of Paul Taylor taught a
photogravure course at Rhode Island School of Design in the printmaking
department. He has produced many gravures for artists and photographers and
is great to work with. His hand-production gravure business is called
Renaissance Press and I believe is located in New Hampshire or Vermont.
Also there is a Thomas Platt Palmer in Newport RI, and he also makes
gravures for artists. I don't have their telephone numbers, but US info
will perhaps have this at (area code + 555=1212). The head of printmaking,
Nancy Friese, will probably still have Taylor's number.
