Much of the traditional literature cautions against the introduction of
iron utensils and trays in the platinum process. Of coarse, when all
this was written, there was no stainless steel in common use.
I much prefer a wooden sink, mine is coated with fiberglass resin, homemade.
If you plan to use HCl for clearing, stainless is not the choice, as I
have stainless utensils that have corroded when introduced to HCl.
