The New Pictorialist Society has sponsored several travelling
portfolios, one of which I ran. Basically the portfolio was
sent to each contributing participant, who reviewed and
commented on the contents, and then sent it to the next on the
list. I considered two methods for adding prints:

i) add a print when the portfolio reaches you and, when a
print has made two rounds (one for comments, one so everybody
could review the comments) remove it. There would be two
prints from each participant in the portfolio at any one time.

ii) each participant sends a print to the portfolio organizer
at the beginning of each round. Prints that have made two
rounds would be returned by the organizer.

I opted for the second approach in order to maintain more
control and accountability in the portfolio. Alas, the
control was only an illusion. It got lost in the mail
somewhere, and has never turned up.
