I learned of an adhesive for mounting chine-colle from Bill Lagattuta at
Tamarind Institute. It is an archival Rhoplex made by Conservation
Materials, Ltd. in Sparks, Nevada. It is sprayed on via airbrush and
remains pressure sensitive. It initially contains water so some thinner
rice papers tend to cockle a bit. Its pretty neat though because you can
mount the colle sheet to the backing paper prior to printing. Running it
through a press flattens it out really well. Perhaps this glue could be
used for dry-mounting photos as well as for chine-colle.
